A1 Fire & Safety is a Toowoomba-based fire protection company servicing the Darling Downs, Lockyer Valley, South West Queensland, Brisbane, and the Surat Basin. Our team of more than 20 staff and consultants includes licensed technicians, safety advisors, and training specialists – supported by trusted subcontractors where required.

For over three decades, we’ve been delivering tailored fire safety solutions for schools, government, industry, and regional businesses.

Our Story

The business began in 1994 when Barry Lindemann purchased a small two-day-a-week mobile extinguisher service. Together with his wife Leone, Barry successfully ran and grew the business until 2004, when their son Luke Lindemann joined, bringing fresh energy and a drive to expand. Under Luke’s leadership, A1 Fire & Safety has grown from a mobile service into a full fire protection provider, offering compliance, equipment servicing, evacuation planning, and accredited training.

The business proudly celebrated 30 years in 2024. Today, Luke and his wife Margaret continue to work full-time in the company. Their three sons have all been involved at different stages, with the youngest still at school – reinforcing A1’s identity as a genuine family business with strong local roots.
